TOM or The Oneness Movement is a catalyst for Oneness.

Why was it founded?

Founded by Joanna Harris, TOM was born out of a personal transformational journey that opened her eyes to a better and more fulfilling life.

Because of the profound learnings and self-awareness that Joanna uncovered, it was absolutely true for her to begin a new chapter to inspire the global community to embrace conscious wellbeing and share her vision for Oneness in everyday life.

TOM is the only online marketplace that 100% serves the conscious wellbeing community.

This way we can solely focus our efforts in serving those who are seeking Oneness in everyday life.

As a conscious wellbeing practitioner, you can promote and sell your services on our simple and intuitive platform – myTOM. It also provides management tools that help you gain more clients and grow your business. Using TOM will also help you minimise no shows and increase loyalty.

Our vision is for myTOM to be a global platform and we do not restrict customers and businesses from signing up based on their location.

We will be working closely with businesses and consumers in the UK initially, though we welcome customers and businesses from other countries, as many Services can be provided virtually, or require travel anyhow, such as retreats.

Please do note though, that myTOM is currently available in English and transaction on the platform will be Pound Sterling currency only, though our payment provider Stripe, can convert this to your local currency, for which they may charge you a fee separately.

myTOM for Clients

Upon approval of your payment via Stripe, you will receive a Booking confirmation email.

Please retain this email and reference for any queries.

Your Practitioner may wish to see this as proof of your purchase for that Service.

You can view your bookings at any time on your myTOM dashboard once logged in.

 

myTOM payments are facilitated by Stripe and allow most types of Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit and debit cards.

myTOM is an entirely cashless platform with all payments being facilitated via Stripe, an online payment processing platform, for additional security and customer protection.

myTOM offers a platform for a wide variety of Conscious Wellbeing disciplines, some of which are not regulated by a governing body.

As such, we are unable to offer a verification process at present and so we ask that you read the Practitioner’s profile for any details of qualifications and contact them via myTOM should you have any questions before you book with them.

Please note that as part of their contract with TOM, Practitioners are required to have insurance in place relevant to the Service they provide, however this is not currently verified by TOM.

We ask that you contact the Practitioner via myTOM to resolve any disputes you have directly with the Practitioner. Should you feel unsatisfied with this interaction, or am unable to reach a conclusion with them, please contact the TOM Client Success Team as soon as possible with details of your booking and complaint. We will investigate your concerns and mediate the resolution.

 

Yes you can!

When you are logged in to myTOM and viewing a Practitioner’s profile page, you will see a messaging icon. Click this and you will be able to send them a message.

You can also access your inbox for past conversations.

 

Yes we do!

Cancellation policy

You are entitled to a refund should you cancel a Service booked, however there is a time period before the Start Date of the Service, in which a Practitioner may choose not to provide a refund.

Refunds are based on the Practitioner’s cancellation policy for their Service and you should read this carefully before booking. The Practitioner can select not to offer a refund if a cancellation is made thirty (30), seven (7), two (2) or zero (0) days before the Service occurs.

Cancellation fee

Refunds are processed onto the original payment card used via Stripe. All cancellations are subject to a 3% cancellation fee to cover transaction and administration costs.

For example, if your original service cost £100, you would be refunded £97 less the 3% cancellation fee.

Refund processing time

Refunds are processed automatically by Stripe however they usually take 5-10 working days to appear on your bank statement.

Queries and cancellation requests

If you have any queries or require support on this please contact us here with full details of the related booking.
Should you wish to dispute a cancellation request, we will review and advise on a case-by-case basis.

Yes we do!

Cancellation policy

As a Client, you can cancel your Service at any time before the Service start date.

You should note though that each Practitioner can set their own Cancellation policy with regards to refunding you the cost of the Service. They can specify a period of time before the Service start date, at which point they will not offer a refund.  This can be zero (0) days so that you get a refund, two (2),  seven (7)  or thirty (30) days before. Please read the Cancellation Policy for each Service you book before completing your Booking.

Practitioners set their own Service cost so the costs will vary. However, we do not charge you, their Clients, a fee for Booking their Service!

Costs can vary based on what the Practitioner is offering and no doubt, on their experience. For example, a one day workshop would cost significantly less that a 7 day retreat. In our experience, transparency and competition on the marketplace, means that you, the consumer can make better purchasing decisions.

You should note that Practitioners also set their own Cancellation policies which you can read on their Services page. This may mean that if you cancel within a certain time period before the date of the Service, you may not be entitled to a refund. Please read the Cancellation policy on the Services page before you book.

Please note that for any cancellation you make, a small administration fee of 3% may occur to help us cover our costs.

myTOM for Practitioners

We will expect all of our service providers to read and uphold our Code of Conduct.

Other than that, explore and enjoy!

 

Once you have published your Service page, potential Clients will be able to search for and view your Service. They can also select a date for the service that they would like to book.

Once they have made a payment for the booking through myTOM, you will receive a confirmations by email for each booking. You can also review your bookings at any time on your myTOM dashboard.

 

As a Practitioner on myTOM, you must allow clients to cancel a Service they have booked and paid for, and to potentially be refunded once the cancellation occurs.

For each of your Services you are able to select a period prior to the date of the Service, at which point a refund is not given on cancellation. During this period, the client will still be able to cancel, however they will not be entitled to a refund.

 

Yes you can! Simply switch to your Customer Account using the Top Green Toolbar.

Click the “down arrow” next to your name, and then select “Switch to Customer” to search and book services with other Practitioners

Switch back to your Practitioner Account at any time in the same way.

myTOM has a messaging service so you can contact your clients directly!

If you want to get more information from your Client, or simply say ‘hi, thanks for booking’, then use the messaging service.

 

To contact a specific client, click on “bookings” from your dashboard  to see the list of client bookings.

 

Select the one you want and click on it to open that record. Then click the message icon.

 

For free services, simply use the Event category when creating your service and then select the Free Service check box that appears.

 

Why does myTOM require a Stripe account for Practitioners?

In order to make the payment mechanism as easy to use for both users and practitioners, TOM opted to use Stripe on the myTOM platform for a number of reasons:

  • Customers can use their bank card details as normal when booking services and do not have to create an account (unlike with Paypal)
  • Practitioners can quickly and easily create an account that enables TOM to automatically pay them for any transactions generated through the platform
  • Stripe’s integration meant that we were able to offer a simple fast payment mechanism quickly for our users.
  • Stripe transaction fees are much more competitive.
  • Stripe allows TOM to automatically deduct the commission from a practitioner’s transactions as opposed to creating separate invoices and deductions.
  • Stripe will allow TOM to expand the platform and easily offer various currencies in the future.

Although we may offer other payment mechanisms in the future such as Paypal, for the short term we believe that Stripe offers everyone an easy solution for payments.

Marketing & Privacy

You can edit your marketing preferences from your profile page to stop receiving marketing messages from TOM.

Security and GDPR compliance are very important to us with all of your details securely stored within our database and internal policies and technology including industry-standard user authentication mechanisms to ensure your details are secure.

No payment card data is ever visible to our backend systems using an industry-standard mechanism known as “tokenization”.

Need some myTOM Technical Guidance?

Technical Support for Clients

If the Service you booked offers more than one start date and you would like to change for a different date, then currently you will need to cancel your first booking and re-book for the new date.

We are working on new functionality to allow you to change, but please bear with us in the meantime!

IMPORTANT

Based on the Cancellation Policy set by the Practitioner, there may be a time period before the Service starts in which you are not entitled to a refund. Please read your Service cancellation policy carefully before you decide to cancel and re-book. All cancellations are also subject to a 3% cancellation fee.

We know this isn’t great, but we are working on it. Please contact us for more assistance or read more about our cancellation process.

 

To book a Service, you will first need to create an account on myTOM, and accept the terms and conditions. After verifying your email and your profile is created, you’re good to go!

You can search for services from the home page. Once you found one you like, you can Book that Service by selecting the date, time and location available matching your needs. Then simply make the payment. Our payments are facilitated by Stripe, who securely process your card details and the transaction.

Please note that you do not need an account to search and browse for the Services on myTOM, however if you’d like to proceed to Booking, you’ll be asked to create an account.

Before you delete your account, we though it might be useful to let you know that it’s absolutely free and secure to have a profile on myTOM.

  • Don’t want to hear from us? 
    Just amend your mail preferences in your Profile settings and we wont contact you. You can return and use myTOM whenever you like and easily log in.

To create a service, you will need to have an account on myTOM and have set up your Business Profile. Here’s a guide to help you.

Then simply go to your dashboard to Add a New Service. We recommend adding as much information as possible for the audience to understand what you do including images and video if available.

You can cancel or change a published Service at any time, as long as no Bookings have been made for that particular date you wish to change.

Once you have received Bookings, we strongly recommend that your Service is not cancelled in order to protect your reputation.

However we appreciate that some circumstances are outside of your control.

Please contact TOM Client Success Team if you wish to cancel your Service which has Bookings. We will facilitate this for you to ensure your Clients receive their full refund and are notified.

There will be a charge for the cancellation to cover any platform fees from Bookings made, such as the Stripe transaction costs.

You can still edit the Service content after Bookings are made, such as adding images, but you can not alter the date, time or location. Your Clients have booked that Service based on those criteria and so you will need to uphold them.

 

When uploading images on the myTOM platform you may wish to know what would work best for your profile.

We have created some quick tips on how to easily get the best image dimension and size including our favourite free tools to use.

1. What’s the best dimension and sizes for the images I upload?
  • Supported image formats by the platform: JPEG, PNG
  • Max image size is 3MBs

– Profile Cover Photo (the background image)

  • This is the background image and is automatically taken from the first image uploaded
  • Ideal resolution would be 1520 x 215 (px)

– User/Provider Profile Photo/Logo ( the circular image )

  • Ideal resolution would be 200 X 200 (px)

-Image Gallery

  • Recommended size: 1000 x 560 (px)  
  • Maximum supported size: 1920 x 1080 (px)
  • Other resolutions supported by the platform: 1600 x 900 (px), 1366 x 768 (px)

Note: Platform will support any resolution with the width to height ratio of 16:9

2. Free Image Resizing tools

You may have your favourites but we have used these two and find them simple and easy to compress and resize images in minutes.

You simply upload your images or drag and drop, and then you have the option to quickly reduce the image size or choose the width and height dimensions you would like.

You only have to create a Stripe account once and this will allow TOM to automatically send you any payments for services automatically through the platform.

Instructions for Connecting/Amending your Stripe Account.

      1. Sign in to your myTOM.io account
      2. From your dashboard you have 2 options
        1. For accounts with no previous Stripe connection, click on the Go to Profile link in the orange box
        2. For accounts who wish to change their Stripe account, go to Profile
      3. Select the EDIT icon on your Profile screen

     

    1. Scroll to the bottom of your Profile screen where you will find the Stripe Connect button.
    2. Complete the Stripe application form as best as possible for their security requirements.*

 

 

*Why do I need to give Stripe so much information?

The information requested is to ensure Stripe comply with financial regulations to prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion etc. For more information on how they handle your data, see their Privacy Policy.

I do not own a website!

If you do not own a website, your social media profile is absolutely fine and will only be used if Stripe notice any unusual activity with your payments to check that you are genuine.

Creating a unique URL is important not just for SEO purposes (so people can find you organically on search engines like Google) but also in order for you to share your profile and service with a friendly and readable URL.

You have two options for creating unique URLs:

  1. For your main profile page
  2. For each Service you publish

Note: We recommend using standard browsers like Chrome and Safari to do this easily.

 

Creating a Unique URL for your Profile Page

  1. Log in to mytom.io with the email you used to register your practitioner account.
  2. Go to Profile on your Dashboard
  3. Click on the Settings icon or go straight to this URL if you are logged in

 

 

 

 

4. Scroll to the section Change Profile URL

5. Type your business name using Alphanumeric characters only (letters and numbers)

6. You can also use a dash as in the example above for we-are-imaginal

 

Creating a Unique URL for your Service

  1. Log in to mytom.io with the email you used to register your practitioner account. (We recommend using standard browsers like Chrome and Safari to do this)
  2. Go to Services on your Dashboard
  3. Click on the Service title area you wish to view (do not use the edit functionality)

4. Click on the Change URL button

5. Type your Service name using Alpha-numeric characters only (letters and numbers)

You can also use a dash as in the example above for ‘we-are-imaginal’

6. Click Save and this is now your Service’s public URL!

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the price or number of attendees on a published service to prevent any errors and complications that may occur if your amends coincided with a customer completing a booking.

However, you do have the option to delete the service and create another version or you can contact us to do this for you if you already have bookings on your existing service.

Your ability to delete a published service from your myTOM dashboard depends on whether you have received any bookings  in order that we can help you manage any cancellations and refunds with your customers.

 

Deleting a Service that does not have any paid bookings.

You can delete a service from your dashboard if you have not received any bookings by following the below steps;

  1. Log in to your myTOM dashboard
  2. Click on Services
  3. Click on the Service you wish to Delete
  4. Click on DELETE at the bottom

 

Deleting a Service with paid bookings*

In order for us to first un-publish and then delete your service, please contact TOM Customer Support and quote your Service Name and/or URL.

*Please note transaction fees and/or processing administration fees may be applicable at TOM’s discretion as per the terms and conditions.

Troubleshooting

Just log out of myTOM and create a new profile with the correct email address. We will email a verification email to the correct address and your account will be confirmed.
